Gala 1

Dear Parents, Staff and Students

Last week saw the celebration of the school's 20th anniversary since its founding in 1998.

I was delighted to see so many parents and friends of the school present on Foundation Day for the Assembly and Running of the Flags. We celebrated the forming of a learning community as a community, an approach and tradition I am proud to see continue.

This was followed by the 20-Year Gala at the Albany Entertainment Centre attended by 190 guests on Saturday night. We heard the stories of the founders of the school, were entertained by Music students and alumni, and were served delightful canapés by our outstanding Hospitality students. The event underscored the good intentions of those who commenced work on the school 20 years ago and demonstrated their foresight and wisdom. Thank you to all who participated. Our job now is to plan the next 20 years at GSG with wisdom and knowledge equalling that of our forebears.

Country Week

The 2018 Country Week team departs for Perth on Sunday and goes with our best wishes for an enjoyable and competitive experience. I wish you the best of luck and send you off in the knowledge that you will give your all for GSG. Go well!

School Council Members

At the recent School Council AGM, Mrs Fran Leary was elected Deputy Chair of Council. Mrs Leary is a former school parent and current Chair of the Finance Committee. She replaces Mr Brad Williamson who resigned earlier this year.

Walkathon

Thank you to those who supported the P&F Walkathon. Congratulations to Mia Palmer (Pre-Primary) for raising the most funds and to Scarlett Swain (SixF) who won the bike prize.
